Micropogias undulatus

-The Atlantic Croaker is in the Kingdom Animalia and in the Phylum Chordata.
-It's habitat is over mud or sand in coastal waters and estuaries. They are able to tolerate a wide range of salinities.
-They also can be found in temperates of 50-93 degrees F.
-It can be found in ranges along the coast from Cape Cod to Texas, south to Yucatan, Mexico; and in New Jersey and Florida.
-It is one of the most abuntant inshore fish species, especially in the southeatern Atlantic and northern Gulf of Mexico.
-Croaker are opportunistic bottm-feeders that consume a variety of invertebrates and occasionally fish.
-The female Croaker matures at age three and the male at age two.
-The Croaker usually spawns during fall and winter.
-The number of eggs per female ranges from 100,800 to 1,742,000 depending on the size of the fish.
-The Juvenville Croaker prefer low salinity habitats and open water to areas rich in submerged aquatic vegetation.
-The Atlantic Croaker is able to live up to eight years of age.
